It is very unlikely that they play any concerts ever again. Although there are rumors, the band is dead after all… If any possibilities come up, I will certainly post here! :)

The Sins Of Thy Beloved is a gothic metal band from Bryne, Norway.

The band was formed in November 1996 by Glenn Morten Nordbø, Arild Christensen and Stig Johansen. The band was initially called “Purgatory” but they soon decided to change their name to something less common. Anita Auglend and Ola Aarrestad joined the band shortly thereafter, and they recorded their first demo All Alone in January–February 1997.

The Sins Of Thy Beloved is often compared to gothic metal bands such as Tristania and early Theatre of Tragedy, mainly because of the band’s combination of a female soprano voice with male death grunts; this trait is common to gothic metal in general, and is known as “beauty and the beast” vocals. Their music features death/doom metal rhythmics enhanced by the prominent use of violins, especially on the Lake Of Sorrow album, typical of many gothic doom bands. Their live recordings offer a sound closer to traditional death metal than their studio albums, which make heavy use of arrangements and effects.

probably took forever to answer(sorry!), because only now I decided to post something.

So, the last thing we heard from them was in June 2011, when Pete said there was possible reunion tour in China. Then he said it was cancelled. :(

I don’t think there will be a band reunion after so long, but we can always hope. One thing is certain, if they ever come back, they already have the fans! :)

This is the FAN WEBSITE of THE SINS OF THY BELOVED. This used to be the (http://www.desolation.be/tsotb/), ran by Pieter. He has chosen to discontinue the website, and thus it was passed unto me.

The Sins Of Thy Beloved is a Norwegian band mostly classified as gothic metal.
Themes in the songs are often love, death, loneliness and sorrow.
The band consists of no less than seven very talented musicians with differing musical background.
Although not being the most well-known (or commercial) band in their genre, their influence in the gothic metal scene, from the shift of the millenium up to today, is undeniable.

Since about the end of 2003, the Sins have gone into some kind of prolonged hibernation. Their official website hadn’t been updated for a long time, and was even removed later.
Information has been very scarce ever since. There is evidence, however, that fans should not give up hoping! While the number of musicians has proven to be an advantage for the quality of their music, being many is a grave disadvantage when it comes to productivity.

In September 2011, Pete in his Facebook, talked about a possible reunion tour to China, but lately said it was cancelled. Let’s just keep hoping~

This site has in first instance been built just as a fan site dedicated to the Sins, and is meant to contain as much and accurate information about this wonderful band as possible.
Suggestions for improvement of the site are of course always welcome.
